SPRING SUMMER 2004: 2 WEEK WORK SHOP

We are currently partnering with Dr. John Diamond, M.D., a world-renowned psychiatrist, healer , and pioneer, as well as a best-selling author. Dr. Diamond provided the seminal work for the Emotional Clearing & Futuring techniques (New Decision Therapy) which we employ. Dr. Diamond will provide critical, advanced training to the Company as we develop our theatre work. He will monitor us rigorously, as well as teach us new techniques to enhance our own life energy in our work. Dr. Diamond’s techniques center on the use of Applied and Behavioral Kinesiology, fields in which he is a pioneer and innovator, and which are now gaining acceptance among alternative medical practitioners. Kinesiology itself is based on Chinese meridian technology, and uses similar diagnostic tools to acupressure and acupuncture therapies. However, with Behavioral Kinesiology, language and emotion (not just biochemical factors) have shown to have significant impact on the body’s immune system. We intend to harness this profound information not only to heal ourselves as performers, but also to created theater works which heal the audience through the use of language , imagery, sound and movement. Most importantly, we propose being able to bring healing to our audience through our concerted and focussed intention to heal. This intention on our parts will be tested and monitored throughout our developmental and performance processes, to ensure that we are indeed on track, and not falling prey to the narcissism and ego (lung meridian imbalances) so prevalent in most theatrical performance.

The piece of theatre developed for the 2-WEEK WORKSHOP will be in the form of improvised comedy with some music and dance. We intend to include and involve the audience; in fact, part of our mission is to design the event so that we can adjust our performance to include both able-bodied and -minded audiences, as well as those who are impaired or handicapped in anyway. It is vital that our theater is accessible to as wide an audience as possible, both in terms of logistics as well as on the level of content.

After a small series of performances for the general public, we will then embark on a series of performances in hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, youth centers, and AIDS clinics, and the like.(link to HOW YOU CAN HELP)
